2025 Astrology Predictions: Eclipses, Retrogrades & Notable Astrological Transits

Eclipses, retrogrades, planetary shifts, oh my! Swift change is on the way in 2025, and it’s time to embrace the shifts with trust, bravery and confidence. Whenever outer planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, move into a new zodiac sign, we experience a collective shift from one era to the next. In 2025, four out of these five planets are shifting, following Pluto, which shifts in 2024 permanently into Aquarius for almost 20 years. Not to mention the powerful retrograde periods and a new eclipse cycle. This all is a BIG deal, not only for your personal life, but for our global community as a whole.

Now that Pluto is permanently in Aquarius, until 2044, the universal energy is officially power to the people, but not immediately. We are in an intense time of transformation and rebirth with Pluto in the zodiac sign that is connected to humanity, innovation, rebellion and forward thinking. As a collective, it may feel like we’re charging into 2025 with conflicting agendas and power struggles. But this is intentional. We are on a wave of human evolution that will ascend us to a higher level of consciousness, empathy, understanding, and compassion. And you may need help.

Graham Breitenstein of Drunk Astrology, on 2025: “I’m calling this “The Year of the Divine Mentor” because each of us will find the support we need to “rev up our celestial engines” via different types of coaches, trainers, counselors, advisors, therapists, etc. It’s time to conjure up your cosmic support squad and get going!”

2025 will catapult us into action when Saturn and Neptune move into cardinal fire sign, Aries, kicking off a trailblazing cycle, followed by Uranus’ move into Gemini, bringing change to communication, technology, travel and education. With these planetary shifts as a framework for the year, let’s look at how 2025 will unfold, through the lens of its major events.

2025 Retrogrades

Mercury:

March 14 – April 7

July 17  – August 11

November 9 – November 29

In 2025, Mercury’s retrogrades once again occur in the fire signs—Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, reigniting passion and action. While retrogrades are a time for reflection and revisiting, the fiery influence energizes progress, encouraging you to return to unfinished projects, relationships, or goals with renewed focus. However, starting entirely new endeavors may lead to complications or short-lived results. Finish what you’ve started before stepping into a new chapter.

March’s retrograde aligns with the vernal equinox, Venus retrograde, and Neptune’s move into Aries, intensifying its impact. July’s retrograde in Leo demands courage and recalibration, while November’s retrograde in Sagittarius, opposite Uranus in Gemini, emphasizes clear communication and speaking your truth.

The March and November retrogrades bring Mercury back into water signs Pisces and Scorpio, adding emotional depth and relational themes. This period may reconnect you with people or issues from your past, offering closure or resolution.

Venus

March 1 – April 12

Venus goes retrograde once every 18 months, ushering in a time to focus on strengthening your relationship with others, money, and redefining what is valuable in your life. Venus’ retrograde starts in fire sign Aries, putting an emphasis on your own needs. Guard against making impulsive financial and relational decisions. When Venus goes direct in water sign Pisces, where it’s exalted, harmony can be restored. Venus will reenter Aries one last time in 2025 on April 30 and continue to move forward in direct motion.

Mars

December 6, 2024 – February 23, 2025

2025 kicks off with Mars retrograde in fire Leo, which begins December 2024. Mars retrograde in Leo encourages putting energy into creative goals, self expression, recreational activities, children, and stepping into confidence, but at a slower pace. Projects from the past may return. Mars goes direct in water sign Cancer, wrapping up themes that began in October 2024. When Mars reenters Leo while it’s direct on April 17, motivation will increase and seeds that were planted during the Mars retrograde period may start to bloom.

Jupiter

October 9 2024 – February 4, 2025

Jupiter’s retrograde that began in Gemini 2024 continues through February, slowing down expansion in the areas of communication, travel, and learning. Misunderstandings and confusion are amplified since Jupiter is not its strongest in the sign of Gemini and is in a loose square with Saturn in Pisces.

November 11, 2025 – March 10, 2026

Jupiter’s retrograde in Cancer that will last through 2026 allows the space to align with goals and aspirations that are close to your heart and in tune with your dettiny. Harmonious aspects to Saturn and the north node in Pisces provide structure and synchronistic support that move you to where you’re supposed to go.

Saturn

July 12 – November 27

Saturn begins its retrograde in Aries, slowing down initiatives that began around or after May 24 when Saturn moves into Aries. Use this time to reorganize, restructure and make sure that you are in fact headed in the right direction. When Saturn goes direct in Pisces, themes from 2024 will return to test your growth so you can see how far you’ve come.

Uranus

September 1, 2024 – January 30, 2025

2025 begins with Uranus retrograde in Taurus, a continuation from 2024 where we can evaluate and free ourselves from situations that make us feel stuck and constrained. Reassessing finances and material attachments is supported.

September 5, 2025 – February 3, 2026

Uranus retrograde, now in Gemini, will bring a much needed break to the speed at which things will be moving from the outer planet shifts. Uranus’ positive connection with Pluto in Aquarius and Neptune in Aries allows for deep introspection and a focus on spiritual and creative pursuits. Uranus goes direct in Taurus February 2026, wrapping up themes from the last 7 years, finances, material pursuits, the environment, and security.

Neptune

July 4 – December 10

Neptune retrograde in Aries allows for introspection related to the self and personal identity. It’s a great time to examine if your actions are aligned with who you want to become. Spiritual growth is greatly supported. Collectively, a desire for liberation and independence may arise. Neptune will go direct in Pisces, requiring compassion to be prioritized in order to move towards  more harmony.

Pluto

May 4 – October 13

Pluto retrograde in Aquarius will bring forth a need for deep transformation and inner contemplation on a collective level. Power struggles arise as we define what is best for most versus a select few. This is a time of awakening and facing hard truths in order to ascend.

2025 Notable Astrological Influences

Neptune enters Aries

Neptune will enter Aries on March 30 where it will stay until October 22, 2025, ushering in a new wave of creativity. We may see gains in visual arts, a new spiritual movement, and the blurring of individual ideologies. Neptune at its best is heart centered and soft in nature, but in Mars ruled, sell-preserving Aries, it will stir up confusion regarding what should be prioritized.
Breitenstein says,”In 2025, we are collectively invited to get “for real for real” about the dreams we want to see actualized in our individual lives. Neptune’s entrance into Aries coupled with Saturn’s quick dip into the same sign is a powerful opportunity to embrace the “me” that lives inside the collective “we,” to boldly claim “this is what I want,” and then just. go. for. it.”

Saturn enters Aries

Saturn will briefly enter Aries from May 24 through September 1, 2025. Saturn is in its “fall” in Aries, and does not operate under the rules and authority that it is used to. Saturn governs building, structure, time and sacrifice, while Aries represents independence, fresh starts, individuality and leadership. We may see the rise of new leaders and regimes around the globe. There will be a blending of old versus new, and growing pains to navigate as we try to find a balance between different ideologies collectively.

Jupiter enters Cancer

Jupiter enters the sign of its exaltation on June 9, bringing much needed harmony and support to balance out the other outer planet transits. Jupiter in Cancer brings luck and support to women’s issues, mothers, family, home, connecting with your ancestry and building a nest egg.

Uranus enters Gemini

On July 7 Uranus, which governs change, innovation, and technology leaves stable and grounded Taurus for mutable air sign, Gemini. This is bound to speed up innovation, communication, technology advancements, and creativity overall. Resistance to industries like AI will loosen, and we will likely see great progress in this arena. Communication will be transformed as with the Uranus in Gemini transit in the 1800s when the telephone was invented, and the last last Uranus in Gemini transit from 1942 to 1949, when radio began to increase in popularity, leading to its golden age in the 1950s.

Jupiter Square Saturn

Two squares between Jupiter in Gemini and Saturn in Pisces (August 19 and December 4) occur in 2024, amplifying miscommunication and disagreements around structure and tradition. A third square occurs on June 15, 2025 with Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Aries. Jupiter will now be in a supportive position, however Aries will be in its fall. New issues arise to work through regarding old versus new, family issues, and preserving tradition.
