September 2024 Monthly Report: A Cosmic Shift in the Season of Transformation
September, Meet Us Where We Are
There’s something special about September. We could argue that there is something special about every month, yes, but it is during September where we prepare to usher in the nostalgia of the end of the year. It is during September that leaves start preparing for their free fall from the trees as if to say “It is safe for this version of me to leave because a new one awaits”.
Pluto In Capricorn, The Last Hurrah
September starts with a bang as Pluto dips back into Capricorn on the 1st to finish whatever it started many moons ago. In 2008, Pluto made its first entry into Capricorn, and ever since then, like the psychologist it is, it’s been shapeshifting what we think and how we perceive Capricornian things all over the world. The rise of governments, and the fall of them. The surge of new careers due to technology, and the disappearance of many because of the same thing. We have felt Pluto in Capricorn collectively yes, but on a personal note it may just be time to deep clean that Capricornian house in your birth chart one final time. When a planet revisits, it is offering more opportunities to get it together. Almost like an inspection to see if everything is as you’d like it to be. Ultimately, Capricorn deals with success. Whatever it is you define it as, that is up to you. What’s your ideal scenario?
Virgo New Moon: Bloom Where You Are Planted
On the 2nd of September we are met with a new moon at the 11th degree. This new moon is applying an opposition to Saturn in Pisces but don’t be scared. Whenever Saturn is involved in a new moon we speak about long term change. Whatever wants to come about, it wants to be in it for the long haul, so it becomes a particularly auspicious time to start that new routine, that new health regime and anchor some promises to yourself in regards to all Virgo things in your life. The ruler of this new moon is Jupiter, which is steady moving in the sign of Gemini. Chances are whatever it is you want to do, you might just have to figure it out yourself, as Gemini represents using our own mind and skillset.
Mars in Cancer: Fight For What You Love
On September 4, Mars enters its sign of debilitation, which is the sign of Cancer. Planets have to work harder when they are in their signs of debilitation. But is it debilitated, really? If Cancer represents that which is near and dear to us, and Mars is a fighter, this could only mean that a Mars in Cancer transit is about fighting for that which we care about. It might be a specially useful transit for those that spend a lot of their time focused on the outside world. It’s a friendly reminder that it is okay to have things that are just yours, even if you must fight to keep them.
Tamerri Ater, AstroFashionista on Mars in Cancer, “When planets are in their sign(s) of debilitation, they can actually have immense strength and the will to overcome obstacles in relation to what the planet and the sign represent. Mars is associated with action and aggression, and Cancer is associated with nurturing, the home, and family. Mars in Cancer is an opportunity to overcome familial/ancestral issues, matters related to the home, and issues of emotional insecurity. But not without a fight. Follow the waves of your emotions, listen to your spirit, and commit to tackling these sorts of issues head on. Important healing can begin during this time and continue into next month when Mars squares off with asteroid Chiron, the wounded healer.
Mercury in Virgo: Get Down to the Details
Work awaits Virgo’s ruler Mercury. After a long back and forth between Leo & Virgo due to its retrograde motion, September 9th arrives and with it the re-entry of Mercury in Virgo, moving direct in its sign of exaltation. Exalted planets are like special guests at a party, but Mercury at this party is the guest that lets everyone know exactly how it feels about them. Its journey through Virgo will have Mercury meeting an opposition to Saturn in Pisces, a square to Jupiter in Gemini, and then an opposition to Neptune that is sitting pretty at the later degrees of Pisces. Be intentional with your words around this time. In Virgo, Mercury is quick, analytical, and focused on a specific goal. Mercury, as the fast-moving planet, does not stay down for long. Time to crush that to-do list.
Pisces Full Moon, Lunar Eclipse
On September 17, we are hit with the very first eclipse on the Virgo/Pisces axis. This partial lunar eclipse happens at the 25th degree of Pisces during the full moon. If you can think back to six months prior when we had the Pisces new moon and reflect on what has transpired since that time, you’ll see that a point of clarity has been reached. Eclipses are the wild cards of destiny and can often be intimidating. Luckily for us, the full moon eclipse has to answer to Jupiter in Gemini. Yes, Jupiter might be squared between Mercury and Saturn, but it is still receiving a beautiful trine from Venus in Libra. If all else fails remember, love will always see us through.
It will be a September to remember, so get to work planting your seeds. A fruitful fall awaits!
